Princess Kitty's Lala-Land

Take a peek of what's inside PK's nut shell

Marché Moderne June 10, 2009

A nice place for a lazy Saturday dinning. I came here without much expectation since I got some warning earlier regarding to their slow service. But I had a great meal with two good friends, although service did slow down a bit in the end, that actually allow us to have some more conversation.

The restaurant is located @ third floor outside of Nostrum in South Coast Plaza on the right corner of the building, with patio, indoor and terrace seating. With a nice day like today, I pick the terrace dining, and I felt the indoor seating was a little bit tight to my liking. After look at the menu, we decided to try the Spontanee since it’s a good way to sample the foods here.

They serve warm bread w/ butter.. love them. =) I ate so much in the beginning and thought I couldn’t finish the meal later. Appetizer we had Parmesan Scones/ roasted pepper/tapenade.. it was simple but delicious,

for entree.. I got the skate wing..I like the taste of fish but not the chickpeas and the soup,

the flat iron steak was excellent, the center is pink and very juicy..

but dessert was a little bit of a disappointment.. it was palmier twist and vanilla panna cotta.

Everything else was well done except the dessert seems like a toss in bonus, if they put more thought into the dessert, it would be a solid 5 stars. It’s a great deal for what you get in the lunch menu, highly recommended. =)

ps. I forgot to mention the American Kobe Carpaccio Dungeness Crab Meat… it’s to die for!!!!!
